Pray Do Not Babble

Pray! Do Not Babble

When you pray, do not heap up empty phrases. Matthew 6:7

Christ-encountering prayer is a redundancy; all too often, however, it is sadly a necessary repetition. While all prayer is ideally Christ-encountering, at times prayer becomes more of a religious routine that comes up empty.

We all need discipline, schedules, and routines. To maximize our days we set an alarm, make appointments, and work through our punch lists. Scheduling a daily time with God in order to keep a consistent appointment with Him is certainly profitable for every follower of Christ. The key to a successful private prayer life, however, is never the process; it’s the end-game! It’s NOT the wineskin; it’s the wine.

Your daily time with God should never be done simply to check off your to-do list, like taking out the trash. The end-game of prayer is always encountering the manifest presence of Christ. Thankfully, God has given us a pattern to follow when we pray to keep our minds and hearts fully engaged. For this reason, He gave us the Lord’s Prayer Pattern. Put His pattern to good use today.

Father God, today I repent of making my daily prayer time a hollow religious routine. Today, I choose to encounter the manifest presence of Christ.

Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world country and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Liechtenstein and Kentucky.

This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
