Overwhelmed in the Fire
Overwhelmed in the Fire
“As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven.” 2 Chronicles 7:1
King Solomon met God in the fire. When he dedicated to God the magnificent temple he knelt on the floor, spread out his hand to God and declared the temple holy to God. He devoted this magnificent temple to God as a house of prayer for all nations, a meeting place for God and His people where God would tangibly answer specific prayers. When Solomon finished his prayer, God sent the fire.
It is important to recognize that prayer is our assignment and fire is God’s assignment. We pray and God sends fire.
When the fire of God’s manifest presence consumed all the sacrificed animals, the priests were unable to even move a muscle because the glory of God was so thick in the atmosphere. What a significant lesson they learned that day—what God does in manifesting His presence always exceeds and supersedes what we do.
Lord Jesus Christ, I humble myself in Your presence today. Answer me today with fire. Supersede what I do for You with what You do for me and through me.
Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Micronesia and South Dakota.
This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
