Standing With the Persecuted Church
Standing With the Persecuted Church
Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.
Acts 7:56
God is inviting you to stand in prayer with the persecuted church. What do you say?
The first martyr in the early church was Stephen. While he was being pelted to death with stones, he had a remarkable encounter with the manifest presence of Christ. He lifted up his eyes above his raging enemies and saw a most remarkable sight—heaven was standing open, and Christ Himself was standing at attention. Virtually every other place in the New Testament where we see the ascended Christ, He is seated at the right hand of God. Here, however, at Stephen’s martyrdom, Christ is standing as if He is standing in the honor of His servant, Stephen.
When Christ stood for Stephen, it was as if Christ was standing with Stephen—standing at his side.
God wants each of us to stand with the persecuted church, not only to stand in their honor, but to stand with them in prayer. He is inviting us to plead for them in the midst of their persecution to encounter the manifest presence of Christ just like Stephen before them.
Father God, today I stand with the persecuted church. These are my brothers and sisters. While I may not be suffering like they are, I stand with them in prayer. Pour out your love on the persecuted church and your power, in Jesus’ Name.
Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Kiribati and Kansas.
