The Lord of the Harvest

The Lord of the Harvest

Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Matthew 9:38

God wants you to pray for the harvest and to pray for the harvesters.

Jesus lived with a  keen awareness of the harvest. He could see the harvest better than anyone. He said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37). Seeing a discrepancy between the plentiful harvest and the pitiful number of harvesters, Jesus leaned on His twelve to activate their prayers on behalf of the harvest.

We are now within arm’s reach of finishing the work of world evangelism within our lifetime. We want to get this job done in our generation. There is no more strategic activity to which we are called than the activity of prayer—particularly prayer for the harvest. Notice the name Christ gives to the Father, “The Lord of the Harvest.”  It only makes sense that the One who sits enthroned over the harvest wants us as His children to talk with Him about the harvest, and about the harvesters.

Let God stretch your prayer life today to include an increasing amount of time praying for the harvest and to pray for an increasing number of harvesters by name.

Take time today to talk with the Lord of the harvest about the harvest and the harvesters.

Father God, I repent of failing to pray as I ought for the harvest and for the harvesters. Today, begin to stretch my heart and stretch my prayers to include both harvest and harvesters, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Maldives and Washington.
