Ask for the Nations

Ask for the Nations

I will give you the nations. Psalm 2:8

There may be no greater privilege extended to us by God than the privilege of asking for the nations. Not only are we encouraged to ask for the nations, but God promises that He will give them to us.

Psalm 2 is clearly a messianic psalm, or a psalm written about Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God. From beginning to the end of this powerful psalm, the Anointed One, the Lord, the Christ, is in the spotlight. It is to His Son that God initially says, “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance.”

It is only reasonable that God would ask us to pray for the things for which His Son is already praying. It would only be arrogance that would suggest that we should pray for things that Father God would not ask His Son to pray for. And it is false humility that would suggest that we are not to ask for the nations.

When Christ asks for the nations, it is so that He might be exalted in the nations and that He might give them back to the Father. When we ask for the nations, similarly, we are asking on Christ’s behalf so that He might be glorified in these nations and that ultimately, He might give them back to the Father. As you continually  ask, Lord, teach us to pray, expand your prayer life and ask, Lord, teach us to pray for the nations.

Take time now to ask for the nations. Be specific.

Lord God Almighty, I come on behalf of Christ and ask You for the nations…

Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Kiribati and Idaho.
