Costly Blood
“You were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:20
Your motivation to please God should never be in order to gain his favor or get anything from God. Your motivation to please God should only be the love God already has for you.
When you were a dirty rotten scoundrel, Christ died for you. He died and sacrificed his blood for you, not because you were such a great person, but because he was a great Savior and loved you in your miserable condition.
The blood of Jesus is the price he’s already paid to purchase you. Therefore, he can rightfully look you square in the eyes and say, so glorify God in your body! Cool.
Loving Father, I praise you for the price you paid for me— the blood of your dear Son. I, therefore, gladly relinquish ownership over my body to you now. I have been bought with a price and from this day forward I will with the strength you give me glorify you in my body.
