Love Blood
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“God, show me how much you love me by answering this prayer,” is a misguided prayer; because it has the wrong starting point. God doesn’t answer prayer to prove his love. He has already proven his love once for all.
When God sent his Son to die for you, he demonstrated his love for you. Not only does Christ’s death on the cross tell you how much God loved you in the past, but it continues to show you just how much God continues to loves you.
Jesus’ blood is love blood that continues to speak of God’s love for you today. As you ask God to answer your prayers today, don’t ask him to answer your prayers in order to prove his love for you; ask him to answer your prayers on the basis of how much he already loves you.
Loving Father, I repent of underestimating you to continue to demonstrate your love toward me because of the sacrifice of your Son on the cross.
