Risen Indeed
“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.” Matthew 28:6
I greet you on this Resurrection Sunday with the greatest news ever declared— he is not here, for he has risen!
When the women arrived at the tomb two days after his burial, they were greeted with shockingly good news— he is risen, as he said!
As he said, means that the resurrection was the fulfillment of a promise. Not only had Jesus himself prophesied his own resurrection, but many prophets for more than two thousand years prophesied the same.
Today the reality of Jesus’ bodily resurrection is your guarantee of eternal life, and your guarantee of the resurrection of your own physical body, and the bodies of all who trust in Christ.
The reality of Christ’s resurrection is your promise from God today.
Loving Father, today I celebrate the bodily resurrection of Christ from the grave— my hope for the future. Hallelujah!
