Fear-Freeing Encounter
I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
The only way to truly overcome fears is to welcome the presence of a power that is greater than what we fear—the presence of God Himself. Fear is a force to be reckoned with-- if we don’t handle it, it will handle us.
How would you like to have a fear-freeing encounter with Christ today? All too often, a perfectly good prayer time can morph into an anxiety attack. The harder we try to pray, the more worried we get. We pray ourselves into unbelief, and we feel more upset when we finish praying than when we started. This is clearly messed up.
Today, as you come before God in prayer, don’t try to manhandle your fears all by yourself. Chances are, you will lose. Let your fears sit off to the side as you welcome the manifest presence of Christ into your heart and into your life. Then, when you encounter Christ, you will be able to defeat your fears. When Christ takes the preeminence in your life, all your fears will be vanquished. God not only wants to deliver you from some of your fears, today he wants to deliver you from every one of them!
Loving Father, I welcome the manifest presence of Christ into my life. Deliver me from all my fears now, in Jesus Christ’s Name.
