Friends of God

Friends of God

The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He makes known to them His covenant. Psalm 25:14

The friendship of the Lord is not referring to His omnipresence; it’s referring to friendship with His manifest presence. God makes known His covenant and tells us secrets when we learn to attract, welcome, and sustain the manifest presence of God.

It’s easy to think of the friends of God being the big people of the Bible—Abraham, Moses, David, and maybe a few others. Jesus, on the other hand, called each of His disciples friends (John 15:14-15). Clearly the friendship of God is for each of us who enjoy walking in God’s manifest presence.

Father God, there is no greater privilege than being Your friend. For this reason, today I choose to linger in Your presence and savor the benefits of our friendship.
