Hiding in the Presence
Hiding in the Presence
In the cover of Your presence You hide them from the plots of men. Psalm 31:20
There is no safer place on earth to hide than in the manifest presence of Christ.
Even King David knew this spiritual reality. In fact, God may actually orchestrate seasons in our life when we face personal enemies in order to motivate us to seek His manifest presence more intentionally.
The manifest presence of Christ was the due-North on the compass of David’s soul. It was his default setting. The king sought the presence of God in good times as well as in bad times.
Perhaps nothing will test you more than interpersonal conflicts. Be honest today about your people-problems. They test your security system and your motivations. If you are looking to people to make you feel accepted, safe, and significant, you are looking in the wrong place. On the other hand, if you are looking to the manifest presence of God in Christ to make you feel accepted, secure, and significant, you are looking in the right place.
Today is a good opportunity to shift your focus.
Father God, cover me in Your manifest presence and protect me from the plots of others. In Christ I am accepted. In Christ I am secure. In Christ I am significant.
