Without Ceasing
Without Ceasing
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
There may not be a verse in the entire Bible from which we think we are somehow more exempt more than this one—pray without ceasing.
Impossible! we think. How could I possible pray without ceasing? This may apply to someone else, but it certainly can’t apply to me.
Not so fast. God would never ask us to do something without making it possible. The way to pray without ceasing is to pray in the Spirit. Two verses later, the Apostle Paul says, “Do not quench the Spirit” (1 Thessalonians 5:19). That’s the key -- The Holy Spirit!
When you are in love with someone, you think of them throughout the day. When you are in love with Jesus, it is easy to pray without ceasing, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, fill me now with the unquenchable prayer life of Jesus. I link myself to You now. Pray through me, Spirit of God.
