Happy Birthday!
“Whatever is born of God overcomes the world.” 1 John 5:4
Tomorrow is the birthday of the College of Prayer International. On September 22, in the year of our Lord, 1997, the College of Prayer was born. 120 students gathered at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia for four days of encountering the manifest presence of Christ. Fred Hartley, President, Bruce Bliss, Dean, Don Young and Paul Radford formed the first Servant Leadership Team of the College of Prayer. At that time there was obviously no standardized curriculum. They met with each other and their Bibles and the manifest presence of Christ came.
Powerfully. The vision was introduced—to mentor pastors and leaders to reach a lost world through a revived church. Fred Hartley cast the vision and Armin Gesswein did most of the teaching. There was high worship, deep repentance, forgiveness of sins, freedom from strongholds. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered for ministry when they returned.

Father God, we praise You today for giving birth to the College of Prayer, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
