Activating Forgiveness
Activating Forgiveness
As we forgive our debtors. Matthew 6:12
The greatest power on earth is the power of forgiveness. Nothing makes you Christ-like faster than forgiveness. Nothing opens the floodgates into the manifest presence of Christ faster than the choice to forgive others. Is there anyone you have not yet forgiven?
If your prayer life has become stodgy, predictable, dry, or barren, ask yourself, where is my bitterness? Who do I resent? Who do I need to forgive? Unforgiveness in your hearts clogs up your prayer life the way a wad of hair clogs up the drain in your sink. Now is the time to remove the debris.
Father, in Christ You have forgiven me of an unpayable debt. Who am I to withhold forgiveness for a far lesser debt? Right now I choose to renounce bitterness and unforgiveness. I strap myself to the cross of Christ and choose to say to my offenders, ‘Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.’ Today, I choose to wipe their slate clean and remove the debris in my heart. I will not hurt them, even though they have hurt me, in Jesus’ name..
