The Trinity in Creation

The Trinity in Creation

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… and the Spirit of God was over the face of the waters… and God said, ‘Let there be light.’  Genesis 1:1-3

Having perfect confidence in the Trinity, one God, three Persons, helps you pray with confidence.

Whatever God does, He does as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When He created the world, He functioned as He always does—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The first three verses in the Bible, Genesis 1:1-3, show each of the three Persons of the One True God. In verse 1, we see God the Father create the heavens and the earth. In verse 2 we see God the Holy Spirit hovering over the face of the waters. In verse 3, we see Christ, the Word of God, going forth from the Father as He says, “Let there be light.” (We know from John 1:1-2 that the Word of God is Christ.)

In these foundational Bible verses God not only created the world as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but He also functioned in creation as He always does. The Father is always sending the Son. The Son is always being sent. And the Holy Spirit is always activating the Son.

Hallelujah! What a glorious God we serve—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
