Evicting the Orphan Spirit

Evicting the Orphan Spirit

I will not leave you as orphans, but I will come to you. John 14:18

Christ is the one who conquers the orphan spirit.

Anyone without Christ is an orphan. Only Christ can adopt orphans into God’s family. And the most effective way to evict the orphan spirit is to welcome the manifest presence of Christ. After all, when He said, “I will come to you,” He was not talking about the omnipresence of God; He was obviously talking about His manifest presence.

If you live under the mindset or orientation of thinking you need to earn God’s favor or qualify for His blessing, you are wrong. That is not the voice of God; it’s the voice of the orphan spirit. Nothing is more effective at destroying your prayer life and robbing you of intimacy with Christ, than the orphan spirit.

Today, Jesus wants to come to you and evict that orphan voice once and for all. He promises, “I will come to you.” Believe Him. Welcome Him. And Christ will do the rest.

Father God, I open my heart now to Christ. I receive Christ. And once and for all, evict for me the orphan spirit.
