Identifying the Orphan Spirit

Identifying the Orphan Spirit

I will not leave you as orphans.  John 14:18

Perhaps the greatest enemy to your intimacy with Christ is the orphan spirit. When God is your Father, no one can steal your birthright, but the orphan spirit works overtime to question your birthright.

The orphan spirit is a lying spirit. It deceitfully accuses you that God does not love you, that He rejects you, disqualifies you, and holds you in contempt. This lying spirit is a religious spirit that makes you feel like an orphan—unloved, lonely and lost.

The orphan spirit tries to elbow its way into your prayer life and rob you of the blessings of Christ. Tragically, even the strongest Christian can believe the lie that they are disqualified.

If you recognize even the slightest evidence of the activity of this orphan spirit, it’s time to fight back. Jesus said explicitly, “I will not leave you as orphans.” Don’t spend another moment being influenced by this evil force. Take your stand in Christ and hang on to your birthright.

Father God, I receive the truth about who I am—in Christ, I am a child of God. I am not an orphan. I have been blessed as a child of God with all rights and privileges.
