Accurate Christology
"He will bear witness to Me." John 15:26
A good Christology will save you from virtually every other heresy.
Jesus warned us in the last days many will claim, “’I am the Christ.’ And they will deceive many” (Matthew 24:5). Christology is the issue.
The Apostle John warned that the spirit of antichrist is coming, and already many antichrist spirits are at work among us (1 John 2:18). The mission of these antichrist spirits is to attack our Christology.
At the same time that these enemy forces will be trying to destroy our Christology, the Holy Spirit is battling on our behalf to preserve an accurate view of Christ.
The Holy Spirit exalts the incarnation of Christ, when the eternal Christ received for the first time a physical body. He exalts the crucifixion of Christ, when that physical body became a sin substitute and his blood was shed to wash away all sin and free us from the power of sin and Satan. He exalts the resurrection of Christ, when Christ defeated death. He exalts the ascension of Christ, when Christ returned to heaven for the first time with a physical body and sat down at the right hand of God the Father in heaven.
As you grow in Christ, make sure your Christology grows with you.
Holy Spirit, come today and bear witness to Christ. Build in me an ever strengthening Christology.
