Embracing the Supernatural

Embracing the Supernatural

Grant to Your servants to continue to speak out Your Word with all boldness while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the Name of Your Holy Servant, Jesus. Acts 4:30

It’s time to repent of being theoretical supernaturalists while we are in reality practicing naturalists. You cannot follow Jesus Christ and remain a naturalist who only believes what he sees. Jesus walked on water, cast out demons, raised twelve-year old’s from the dead, met with Elijah and Moses on a shining mountain, and fed thousands of people with a little boy’s lunch. Since when do we allow the culture to dictate our theology?

Do you realize that the only continents in the world where the church is not growing are dominated by the worldview of naturalism—“unless I can see it proven in a test tube, I won’t believe it.” The church is thriving in Asia, and it’s a supernaturalist culture. In Latin America and Africa, the church is growing faster than the population, and they are supernaturalists cultures. They each believe in the reality of dreams and visions. They know that there is supernatural healing. Those, however, who live in Europe and North America grew up in the small box of naturalism, and they also happen to be the only continents on earth where the church is not growing.

Church, it is time to throw off the constraints of naturalism and shamelessly embrace the God of the impossible who still today stretches forth His hand to heal the sick and work signs and wonders.

Father God, I repent. Deliver me from the mindset of naturalism. I embrace my identity as a follower of the God of the impossible, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
