Interceding Spirit

Interceding Spirit

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:26

None of us know how to pray properly. No matter who you are or how long you’ve been a Christian, you still need help from the Holy Spirit. Once we acknowledge our prayerlessness, God wants us quickly to accept the help of the praying Holy Spirit.

Hopelessness in prayer is a killer. All too many Christians live in the paralysis of prayerlessness because of the hopelessness that things will never change.

It is a critical moment when we recognize that we do not know how to pray as we ought. Once we settle this issue of prayerlessness once and for all, we can then move on to getting the help we need from the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit not only prays for us, He wants to pray through us. God does not give us a prayer book to read; He has given us a personal prayer Guide and Helper who lives inside us—the Holy Spirit.

As you pray today, humble yourself. Admit to prayerlessness. Receive the helping, praying Holy Spirit.

Father God, I repent of prayerlessness. I renounce my hopelessness, and I receive today Your praying, helping Holy Spirit, who loves to pray and who lives to pray in me.
