Kingdom Encounters

Kingdom Encounters

Your kingdom come… Matthew 6:10

As kingdom people we learn to pray kingdom prayers—prayers not rooted in our agenda, but God’s.

God cannot advance His kingdom through you by prayer without advancing His kingdom within you. As intercessor you learn this principle every day. Before you can intercede for anyone or anything else, God wants to meet you—He wants to encounter you.

The Lord’s prayer intentionally begins with three “your-statements”—“Your Name…Your kingdom…Your will.” Armin Gesswein said, “The only prayers that reach the throne are prayers that start at the throne.” We are not praying in our name, but His. We are not seeking our kingdom, but His. We are not asking for our will, but His will to be done.

Before you begin to intercede for others today, make sure you encounter Christ and allow Him to encounter you. Receive the kingdom. Then you can advance the kingdom.

Father God, I welcome Your kingdom work in me today and through me, to the glory of Christ.
