Not Your Interpretation

Not Your Interpretation

“Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.”

2 Peter 1:20

No prophecy of scripture is open to your interpretation, and no promise of scripture is open to your interpretation either.

The God who speaks prophetic promises, is the God who applies prophetic promises at just the right moment.

Many Christians have become jaded and cynical, having claimed promises they wanted for themselves, and yet these promises were never given to them by the Holy Spirit.

Timing is everything. Submission to the sovereign will of Christ is a prerequisite. Not my will, but yours be done, is always an appropriate prayer when you are asking God for his prophetic promises.

Loving Father, thank you for this warning. I only ever want your prophetic promises in my life in Jesus’ name.
