Permission to Give Thanks

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Anyone can give thanks on a sunny day, but God gives you permission to give thanks when the storms are raging, and the winds of adversity are blowing.

Give thanks is both a command and a promise— God exhorts you to give thanks, and he gives you the grace to give thanks.
 
This is a universal promise that you can take hold of at any time, anywhere, in every situation. 
The more you choose to give thanks in every circumstance, the more you will encounter Christ.

And that is a promise.

Loving Father, today and every day I chose to give thanks in Jesus’ name.
