Promised Zeal

Promised Zeal

“Be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:19

When God says, "Be zealous", He is certainly not giving you an assignment that you can fulfill all by yourself. Zeal is not something you can pump up or manufacture. Zeal in you comes from zeal in Christ, and the only way for you to have it, is to receive it from Christ. And that is a promise.

Remember, many Bible commands are Bible promises. God never asked you to do anything that you could do on your own. At the same time, God never asked you to do something that was impossible with his help.

When Jesus told the lukewarm church in Laodicea, "Be zealous", He was telling them to replace their lukewarm, lethargic spirit with His white-hot zeal. This transaction of moving from lukewarm to zeal is a miracle God wants to work in your heart and in your church today.

And that is a promise.

Loving Father, I renounce my lukewarm heart, and I receive the white-hot zeal of the Lord Jesus Christ.
