Disappointment with God

Disappointment with God

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
” Romans 5:5

You may be living with disappointment with God— disappointment that he did not answer your prayers, that he left you hanging, that he didn’t do what you asked, that you deserved better. Disappointment with God is deadly to your spirit.

The antidote for disappointment with God is receiving the love of God. There is only reason why hope does not put us to shame: it is because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

If disappointment with God has been choking your prayer life like a boa constrictor, you can’t fight it yourself. You need to receive a power that is greater than your disappointment; you need to receive a fresh infilling of God’s love.

This is a promise. Don’t allow your disappointment with God to keep you from the love of God; allow the love of God to deliver you from disappointment with God.

Father God, right now I receive your love by the Holy Spirit in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Heal my heart, restore my faith, rebuild my hope, and deliver me from disappointment with you.
