Stretch out Your Hand

Stretch out Your Hand

Stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of Your holy servant Jesus. Acts 4:30

Are you afraid to pray for signs and wonders? Why —what are you afraid of? The early church not only asked God to stretch forth His hand to heal, they saw mighty signs and wonders. They were certainly not afraid to ask.

Normally, there are only two reasons we fail to pray for signs and wonders. On the one hand, we are afraid that God may not answer our prayers; and on the other hand, we might be even more afraid that He will!

The early church was not afraid of the manifest presence of Christ. They encountered His manifest presence consistently. In fact, they prayed very explicitly for the manifest presence of God—“Stretch out Your hand,” they prayed. They were not afraid of God’s presence; they were afraid of trying to build the church without His presence. If you have been afraid of the manifest presence of God, now is a good time to repent. You have nothing to be afraid of.
God’s hand is good. Always.

Father God, I humble myself today. I renounce my fear and unbelief. Won’t you please stretch out Your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant, Jesus?
