The Grace of Generosity

The Grace of Generosity

“Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace.” 2 Corinthians 8:6

A lifestyle of generosity does not come by self-effort; it comes by the grace of Christ.

When the apostle Paul exhorted the church in Corinth to join the generosity of the Christians in Macedonia, he picked a fitting example.

The Christians in Macedonia were poor by any standard, but listen to what happened. “For in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part” (2 Corinthians 8:2.)

When poor people give extravagantly, it is not the result of self-effort; it is the result of the grace of Christ. It is a miracle!

The gift of extravagant generosity and the grace of giving are for you today, as well.
And that is a promise.

Loving Father, I receive the grace of giving, and the empowerment of extravagant generosity today in Jesus name.
