Your Provider, Your God

Your Provider, Your God

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Matthew 6:24

Financial faith and financial fear will continue to battle each other in your mind and emotions until you answer this question: Who is my provider?

When Christ threw down the gauntlet and declared, no one can serve two masters, the anticipated punch line was, God or the devil. It is somewhat surprising to learn the punchline was, God and money.

Money is certainly not the devil, though the devil can misuse money, falsely promise money, tempt with money, steal money, and use the love of money to pierce your soul with untold pain.

You will live with a tug-of-war, love-hate relationship with money until you answer these two questions: Who is my provider? And perhaps more importantly, who is my source of greatest joy, God or money?

If you receive more joy and excitement from something money can buy rather than a gift only God can give, it is obvious money is your source. If money provides you with more fulfillment, joy, security, and contentment than the gifts of the Father, then money is your provider, and you have made your choice.

Christ calls you today to choose true fulfillment, joy, security, and contentment in him.

Loving Father, I choose you as my Provider, to provide me with fulfillment, joy, security, and contentment in Jesus name.
