Healing Elders
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14
Sometimes God does not want you to keep our illness private; sometimes God wants you to humble yourself and bring the need to the church family.
Healthy churches have healthy leaders who are set apart for the honorable role of praying in confidence and authority for the needs of the church family.
Asking elders (authorized church leaders) to pray humbles us, and God gives grace to the humble.
Asking elders to pray relinquishes privacy and control.
Asking elders to pray gives God another opportunity to glorify himself publicly.
Asking elders to pray validates the calling of God’s appointed leaders.
Asking elders to pray brings you into alignment with Christ and his appointed people.
If you are sick, God may be inviting you to receive your healing miracle by asking elders to pray for you.
Loving Father, thank you for the church, the body of Christ, and for the leader you have assigned for my benefit. I bring myself into alignment with your divine order in Jesus name.
