Healing – Do You Want It?

Healing – Do You Want It?

“Do you want to be healed?”
John 5:6

Jesus may ask you a rhetorical question, but he never asks a meaningless question. When Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem and came to the area of Bethesda, it was like walking into a first century medical clinic.

Bethesda was the place Jewish invalids would go looking for relief. There were dozens, maybe hundreds, of afflicted people in Bethesda that day, but Jesus singled out one man who was a hard-core paraplegic.

For the past 38 years, he had been incapacitated and unable to move his limbs. Jesus asked him a strategic question: Do you want to be healed?

If you have a chronic disease, or have learned to cope with chronic pain, or take medication for a chronic condition, Jesus wants to know, do you want to be healed?

Loving Father, yes, I want to be healed today in Jesus name.
