Attach Your Hose

Attach Your Hose

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7

God wants to blow your mind and prove to you today just how radically he loves you, and he wants to do this by empowering you to radically love someone whom you think is unlovable.
Notice how God connects his command love one another with his promise for love is from God.
Anyone can love lovely people, but only a Christian can truly love unlovely people. God wants you to prove his radical love over and over again by loving people whom no one else loves. For this reason, God says, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

Today is a good day for you to attach the hose of your heart to the spigot of God’s love and let him flow through you to a broken and parched world.

Challenge: pick one person today whom you find unlovely. Ask God for one action step you can take that will express love to that person in terms they can understand.

Loving Father, thank you for your love for me. But I do not want to simply be a reservoir, I want to be conduit for your love. I attach my hose to your spigot so that your love for a broken world can flow through me.
