That Settles It!
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
If you have been demanding proof from God that he loves you, here is a secret: He has already proven it at the cross.
When hardships come— the death of a child, divorce, layoff— it is only natural to question God’s love for you. But do yourself a favor— take your eyes off your circumstances and put them on the cross. You can count on this promise: God loves you and He proved it once and for all when Christ died for you.
Father God, I repent of losing touch with your love by focusing on my circumstances. As I look to the cross, I am convinced by your unending love for me.
