New Song Encounters
New Song Encounters
Sing to the Lord a new song. Psalm 96:1
God invites each of us to consistently have new-song encounters with Him. There are essentially two ways to encounter God by singing a new song. Sometimes we sing to the Lord a song we have never previously heard, and God encounters us in that moment. We can also encounter Christ while singing a song we’ve sung a hundred times before; only this time God takes us to a place we’ve never been before—to encountering His presence as we sing.
Whether we enjoy learning songs written yesterday or songs written centuries ago, we always want fresh Holy Spirit oil in corporate worship so that as we sing, we are encountering Christ.
Beware of mindlessly singing songs, whether old or new. Songs that lead you to a fresh encounter with Christ are always new songs. All corporate worship should be Christ-encountering worship.
God wants to give you a new song for the New Year.
Father God, as I worship You today, pour fresh oil on my songs, that they might lead me to encounter You.
Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world country and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Liechtenstein and Montana.
This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
