Hand-Stretching Encounters
I stretch out my hands to You. Psalm 143:6
Christ-encountering obedience and Christ-encountering worship will stretch you in many ways.
A man with a withered hand had come to worship God in the synagogue on a particular Sabbath as he had done countless times before. But on this day, Jesus called him forward. “Stretch out your hand,” Jesus said to him (Mark 3:5). As the man stretched out his hand, it was immediately restored. It was so shocking that both Jews and Greeks began plotting immediately to kill Christ.
God will often stretch your faith and call you to do things that you never thought possible. It is in these faith stretching moments that you will often see the miraculous hand of God. God will take you places you never dreamed possible.
In what ways is Christ inviting you today to stretch out your hand, either in worship or in obedience? You will meet Christ as you do.
Father God, I do stretch out my hand to You today, first in worship and also in specific steps of obedience.
