Honor Christ at Home

Honor Christ at Home

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.
Ephesians 5:25

When you serve your spouse, you serve Christ, even when you don’t feel like it.

When the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus, he exhorted the husbands to follow the example of Christ in the home—for husbands to go the way of the cross first.

Every marriage faces conflicts, issues, misunderstandings and problems. Christian marriages are no exception. Christians, however, have a unique dynamic in their favor—the example of Christ and the presence of Christ.

Instead of getting angry during marital problems, when a husband says, “Honey, can I help you? I don’t fully understand what you’re saying, but I want to be patient. Explain it to me again,” he exalts Christ. He links himself with the example of Christ and the presence of Christ in the home. At that moment, Christ comes into the home and makes Himself known through the husband’s Christ-like actions, words and attitudes.

Is there a situation you are currently facing in your marriage where you can put this Christ-like, go-the-way-of-the-cross pattern into practice? What are you waiting for! Smile.

Father God, today I choose the cross. I want the cross of Christ to be known in my family by my example. I want to lay down my life for my spouse and my children, in Jesus’ Name.

Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Comoros and Kansas.

This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
