The Promise Habit

The Promise Habit

Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4

Healthy lives are made up of healthy habits. There is no more healthy habit than learning to pray the promises of God.

Jesus made a habit of praying the promises of God.

Toward the end of His forty day fast, He was hungry, and the enemy tempted Him. Because He was in the habit of praying the promises of God, He was able to quote one of the promises as He resisted the devil’s temptation to turn the wilderness stones into loaves of fresh bread.

“Man does not live by bread alone,” He said emphatically, “but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” What a powerful promise! What a victorious moment as Jesus exercises His spiritual authority while confronting the enemy with scripture.

Today, you don’t know what temptations you will face, but you will be stronger and more fortified when you make it a habit of praying the promises of God.

Father God, today I love Your promises. They are my delight and my stronghold. I feed on every word that comes from Your mouth—particularly Your promises.

Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Monaco and New Hampshire.

This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
