That None Should Perish

That None Should Perish

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

According to this Bible promise, there is only one ultimate reason why Christ has not yet returned to earth for the second time— because he is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

The return of Christ is one of the ultimate promises of Scripture, and God wants you to know that he is not slow in fulfilling this promise, but he is patient. His patience in rooted in that fact that he is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

The promise of his return is waiting on that promise that there are yet people to reach repentance. This is a promise that God wants you to claim today on behalf of unreached people around you.

Loving Father, I declare this promise today over my pre-Christian family and friends in Jesus’ name not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
